friend, who is a commercial traveller is looking to replace his car, he is looking at the Ariya EV, his main problem is that he spends a lot of time living out of a suitcase staying at hotels, assuming the hotel will allow it, and the charging cable wont be a hazard, can EV's be charged by plugging into a standard 3 pin plug, assuming again he has a conversion plug similar to the one I have for my touring caravan, all help and advice appreciated

Yes you can charge from a 240v charger cable. I believe a 234v. Charger cable comes with the car as Std.

Also, lots of hotels, particularly on the main routes now have EV charging on site. For example if you're in the UK Premier Inn are rolling out charging at 300 sites: https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/why/el ... rging.html
