Caravan towing
I am currently negotiating with my local Nissan agent regarding Towbar electrics that were fitted from new. When the caravan is connected, there is no indication in the car that the indicators are working ( yes, they are visually checked before towing). It used to be a requirement for a visual/audible indication that trailer indicators are working. Indeed, in the handbook it states that there is a difference in tone of the indicators to show this. My dealer/ Towbar fitter says not - and relies only on the rapid flashing of the indicators to show that one of the bulbs doesn’t work. This would be a symptom of a fault, not a POSITIVE indication that they are working. Has anybody any experience of this - or any advice?
I have a towbar ( NISSAN FITTED ) with no audible sound on signalling. For me personally quite happy that there is no “ beep ! Beep ! Beep everytime you signal . Not sure on the legality status either . Keep me posted if you get anywhere with Nissan .
